Force celebrates more than 420 volunteers in dedicated week

We are celebrating more than 420 volunteers in the force as part of national Volunteers’ Week.

Special constables, cadets and police support volunteers all give their own time to make a difference to local communities in Staffordshire.

Today (1 June), marks the first day in the week-long celebration of those who volunteer and gives organisations like us the chance to recognise their hard work, dedication and valued efforts.

Between January and May 2023, our volunteers gave 13,752 hours and 12 minutes of their spare time to support our officers, staff and our local communities.

Assistant Chief Constable, Stuart Ellison, said: “Our volunteers are incredible. They give up their free time to volunteer alongside our police officers and police staff on a daily basis, helping us as a force build better relationships with our local communities.

“The support, ideas and commitment they give to the force is invaluable and I want to take this opportunity on behalf the force and my colleagues to say thank you to our volunteers.”

Stuart added: “I also want to take this opportunity to thank our volunteer’s friends and family, who support them in supporting us.”

Volunteering with us gives people a chance to get involved with policing, help build connections and provide a vital link between the force and local communities.
