Honorary Consultant Rheumatologists awarded professorial promotions
Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (MPFT) is delighted to announce that Honorary Consultant Rheumatologists Samantha Hider and Edward Roddy have been awarded professorial promotions by Keele University.
Professor Samantha Hider and Professor Edward Roddy, both Readers in Rheumatology at Keele University, are based at MPFT run Haywood Hospital in Tunstall, where they have a strong history of work with the Trust’s research and innovation team.
Samantha has led research investigating the long-term impacts of chronic inflammatory conditions, especially the overlap between physical and mental health and management of multimorbidity.
Edward is the director of the Keele-Haywood Academic Rheumatology Group, which has received international recognition as a European League against Rheumatism Centre of Research Excellence.

The professorial promotions that have been awarded to Samantha and Edward are a testament to the hard work and dedication that they continually demonstrate in their field. I would like to congratulate them on their well-deserved achievement.”
