New PCSO structure to enhance community engagement

We have changed the way we have structured our police community support officers (PCSOs)in the Moorlands as part of our enhanced focus on community engagement.

Residents and businesses will now benefit from a redistribution of officers as we continue our focus on local connections, visibility and engagement with local communities. PCSOs are an essential part of our neighbourhood policing teams and work closely with communities on a daily basis to provide support and tackle issues which matter the most to local people – including anti-social behaviour and disorder.

Here’s who will be covering each area in the Moorlands:

• Biddulph: Joshua Carter, Liam Warrilow, Scott Parry, (Stacie Barker, Sara Staples Georgina Cantrell have secondary responsibility for Biddulph)

• Blythe Bridge/ Tean: Jonathan Staples, Ashley Goodwin and James Naylor

• Cheadle: Paula Lowndes, James Moffatt and Alison Nowicki

• Endon/ Brown Edge: Stacie Barker, Sara Staples and Georgina Cantrell

• Leek: Michael Simcock, Daniel Nettleton and Simon Long

• Waterhouses/ Leek Rural: Rebecca Gorman and Lauren Drew

• Werrington/ Cheddleton: Jonathan Staples, Ashley Goodwin and James Naylor

PCSO Rebecca Gorman, said: “The realignment of PCSOs will enable us to be more visible across the Moorlands, in both the towns and more rural villages. Each area will have a number of dedicated PCSOs who will continue to build good community relations. PCSOs play a key role within local policing teams by providing an accessible and approachable policing presence.”

Chief Inspector Mark Barlow, of the Staffordshire Moorlands local policing team, said: “We are committed to working closely with communities in the Moorlands and by reorganising PCSO teams we aim to improve trust and confidence in the service we provide. We will also continue to work with partner agencies to enable us to engage with local residents and businesses and serve those who need us across Staffordshire.”
