Staffordshire Moorlands district council under Labour control
Labour are now the controlling party of Staffordshire Moorlands district council.
Councillor Mike Gledhill has tonight been elected as leader of the district council after his party became the largest party gaining seats across the district.
The council is now being run by the Labour Party however independents are required to create the majority.
The same was true of the previous conservative administration.
Labour Councillor Lyn Swindlehurst was elected as chair of the district council and independent councillor Ian Plant has been elected as vice chair.
