Warning of bogus trades people

Staffordshire Police are asking us to be on our guard from bogus trades people.

On 18th June, an elderly male had a knock at his door. When he answered, 2 males were trimming his hedge .They literally skimmed the top of the hedge, and cut a single branch of a tree, left all the cuttings and took £300 off him.

They were on his property for less than 10 minutes.

The male is understandably very upset and has lost his savings.

Please only use trades people who you have asked to attend your address.

If this ever happens to you, please ring 999 immediately and do not hand any money over.
