Woman rescued after becoming trapped waist deep in mud at Tittesworth



A woman has been rescued by fire and rescue crews after becoming stuck in mud.


The incident happened while the wakes her dog near the jetty by the sailing club at Tittesworth Reservoir.


The woman was stuck in mud waist height near to the waters edge. A boat was used and a sled to help rescue the woman who was submerged in the mud. Fire and rescue crews from Leek and Newcastle rescued the woman on Friday (27th August)


A spokesperson for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue service said


“Leek & Newcastle have attended a female stuck waist height in mud, approx 25mtrs away from waters edge at Tittesworth Reservoir. Lady got into difficulty whilst walking her dog near the Jetty by the Sailing Club. A boat was deployed to water and a sled used rescue casualty.”
