Appeal for information following burglary in Crewe

Officers are appealing for witnesses and video footage following a burglary at a construction site in Crewe.

At around 5.30am on Tuesday 16 November two unknown men entered a housing construction site on West Street.

As the pair searched the site they were spotted by a security guard who shouted at them.

One of the men then pointed a large knife at the security guard before they both fled on foot empty handed.

The pair were both described as white, in their early twenties, of medium build and around 5’ 6” tall.

Both men were wearing dark clothing.

Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone with any information which may aid the investigation.

Police Constable Ben Shipley said: “This investigation is ongoing and we are currently following a number of lines of enquiry.

“This building site is located on West Street, one of the main roads into Crewe town centre, and as part of the investigation I’m keen to hear from anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or anyone with any CCTV footage which may aid our investigation.

“The same goes for anyone with any dashcam footage. I would urge anyone, with any information, no matter how small, to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 or at www.cheshire.police.uk/tua, quoting IML 1133484.
