Armed police called to Hospital for bomb threat



This morning firearms officers attended Royal Stoke hospital just before 6am following reports of a bomb threat.

A search was conducted of the site and the issue was resolved.

a 39 year old man was arrested and remains in police custody


Staffordshire police provided an Update

“Officers were called to the Royal Stoke Hospital shortly before 6am this morning following reports of a bomb threat. Firearms officers were deployed immediately and a cordon was put in place. A 39-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent was arrested and remains in police custody. The issue was resolved shortly after following a thorough search. A uniformed presence remains in the area to provide reassurance.”
