Boy arrested following theft of lawnmower

A boy has been arrested after a lawnmower was stolen from an address in Upper Tean.

We got a call just before 4.45am yesterday morning (Monday 3 June) after three masked boys were seen pushing a petrol lawnmower along Uttoxeter Road.

We also received reports of three boys attempting to break-in to properties in the Tean area yesterday (Monday 3 June).

Officers arrested a boy on Sapling Rise and seized a mobile phone and a key. A lawn mower has also been located at an address in Cheadle.

A 16-year-old boy, from Cheadle, was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

He has been released on conditional police bail while enquiries continue.

The lawnmower has since been recovered.
