Car set on fire deliberately?

Churnet Sound News

At around 10.20pm on Saturday 29th May Cheshire Fire and Rescue received reports of a car being on fire in Chapel Street, Congleton.

On arrival the crew found the vehicle well alight. The owner was in attendance.

Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire. They each used a hose reel jet to do so. The car was then damped down to make it safe and firefighters were in attendance for nearly an hour-and-a-half.

No-one is believed to have been injured by the fire but it is suspected that the fire was started deliberately.

Anyone with any information about the fire should call Cheshire Constabulary on 101, quoting IML 1000101, or give the details via https://www.cheshire.police.uk/ro/report.
