CHESHIRE CLUBS DISAPPOINTED WITH DECISION
Winsford United and Northwich Victoria have lost their appeals against lateral movement on the football pyramid.
Both clubs appealed about being put into The Midland Football League but the Football Association have informed both clubs that their appeals have been rejected and that they will be expected to play in the Midland Football League.
Northwich Victoria have issued a statement urging supporters to get behind the club and although the club is disappointed they will now push on with preparing for the new season.
The club have placed on record their thanks to the Football Association and appeals panel for hearing their case and the professional way the appeal was conducted.
Winsford United have said they are "devasted" with the news. The club said "We have been informed by the Football Association that if we wish to play at step 5 that we will be playing in the Midlands League.
"It's therefore with great sadness and regret that we have peritioned to be formally relegated to the North West Counties League Divsion 1 with immediate effect in order to save our club.
"We hope they can assist us and accept this request and would like to thank everyone who has helped us in this appeal.
"As a club we have not taken this decision lightly, this is though a decision that we feel is necessary to protect the existance on Winsford United Football Club."
