COLTS LOSE TO CHARGERS
BELLE Vue Colts slipped to a 49-40 defeat at Oxford's Sandy Lane Circuit on Sunday afternoon in the WRSA National Development League.
The Colts took the lead with an opening heat 4-2 from Sam Hagon and Chad Wirtzfeld over Luke Killeen, but the Oxford Chargers responded immediately with a 5-1 in the second heat to give themselves a 7-5 lead.
The Colts then suffered four 4-2 heat advantages and a 5-1 against them in heat eight leaving them trailing the Chargers 31-17.
The Manchester outfit continued to battle away and gained a 5-1 heat advantage from Matt Marson and Mickie Simpson over Chargers number 1 Killeen and followed up with a 3-2 in the next race as Hagon took victory over over Jody Scott after Wirtzfeld and home rider Ashton Vale both fell leaving the Colts trailing 37-28.
A series of drawn heats saw the home side home, Sam Hagon who was only beaten by Killeen during the afternoon top scored for the Colts.
