Competitions for the Leek Show being prepared

The organisers of Leek Show are busily preparing schedules for the regular competitions which include livestock, poultry, dogs, horses and produce.

“We intend all sections to give a chance for youngsters to have a go at competitions and to get a foot on the showing ladder” remarked Eddie Sims, Show Chairman.

“To that end there are classes for young handlers of Cattle and Sheep, junior classes in the horse show and fun Dog show. Youngsters can enter the produce competitions with vegetables and flowers they are growing in their gardens and exhibit their handicraft in the Homecrafts section and floral art tent.”

The more energetic can enter the Tug of War organised by the Young Farmers, who will have their own display area and relax after to the strains of a Jazz Band before visiting the trade and craft stands.
