Congleton man undertakes golf challenge for UHNM charity

Mark Glover from Congleton who along with friends Robert and Colin completed four rounds of Astbury Golf Club in 14 hours and raised over £4,600 for UHNM’s Cystic Fibrosis department.

Mark was inspired to pick up the clubs for his ‘Longest Day Golf Challenge’ to thank the Cystic Fibrosis team for care given to 12-year-old daughter Georgia.

He said: “Georgia has been a patient at UHNM for 7 years and has received great care from a great team. Being and avid golfer, this is something I’d wanted to do for a while and it was a lot of fun and actually seemed to go really quickly. We teed off at 4.45am and completed the 72 holes in 14 hours walking over 26 miles.”

Mark, Georgia and Georgia were joined by wife Nicola to present their cheque to consultant Dr Ang Ho.
