CREWE WIN & VALE DRAW

CREWE Alexandra gained their first victory of the season with a 4-2 victory over Newport County in league 2 at the Mornflake Stadium.


Demetriou opened the scoring on 8 minutes to put the railwaymen in front, but County equalised on 21 minutes as Evans netted for the visitors. The Alex went back in front as Demetriou scored his second of the game on 57 minutes and the home side continued to push forward and gained a penalty on 66 minutes which was duly converted by Long with Nevitt scoring in the 71st minute to make it 4-1 and seal the three points for Crewe. County to their credit continued to push and gained a consolation goal from Charsley on 75 minutes. Attendance 3,619.


PORT Vale gained their first point on the road with a 0-0 draw in league 1 against Blackpool at Bloomfield Road in front of a crowd of 11,416.
