Denstone Country Show and Scarecrow Festival 3rd September 2022

Our roving reporters were in Denstone today for the above show. Luckily the weather stayed fine. The show was busy with people viewing the exhibits and it included vintage tractors and classic cars including Charlie Finnikins Stock Car. Inside the village hall/marquee there were displays of exhibits of Fruit and Vegetables, Flowers, Floral Art, Cakes, Crafts, Eggs, Photography and Paintings etc.,  and at the end of the show there was a presentation to the first placed of each of the catergories. Also teas, coffees and home cakes were available etc., to enjoy. By the School was a field full of stalls selling various wares.

The Scarecrow Festival also was in full flow with 24 Scarecrows to be found around the village, these were based on movies. After finding them you could vote for the best scarecrows in the Village Hall. The results were then given out.

The results were as follows:-

First No. 6 Paddington Bear, Second No. 2 Fiddler on the Roof and Third No.11 Paddington Bear 2.

The results for the business scarecrows were:-

First No. 21 Monster Inc, Second No. 24 Joseph Coat and Third No. 23 The Minions.
