F.A. CUP ROUND-UP

IN the FA Cup first qualifying round Stone Old Alleynians lost out to Atherstone Town by 3-0 to end Stone's hopes of going into the hat for the next round.

Congleton Town are through to the next round with a 1-0 victory for the Bears over Wythenshawe Town.

Hanley Town had to settle for a draw against Hereford Pegasus with the replay taking place on Tuesday night. Kidsgrove Athletic also drew at home to Lye Town with the replay also taking place on Tuesday evening. Another of our local sides facing a replay is Newcastle Town who drew 2-2 at Romulus FC which means Town will face Romulus FC at the Red Industries Stadium on Tuesday night.

Uttoxeter Town lost to former football league club Bury FC 4-1 to go out of the competition and Cheadle Town followed them out of the FA Cup with a 2-1 defeat away to Whitchurch Alport.
