FINNEY PENS NEW DEAL

CHARLIE Finney says he aims to nail down a starting place in the Crewe Alexandra starting side, after signing a new contract with the club.

The 19-year-old, who joined the club aged six, has put pen-to-paper on a new two-year deal, with an option for a further 12 months.

Now the versatile left-footer, who can play in every department on the pitch, is focused on becoming a fixture in the team.

Finney said: “I only signed a one-year deal last summer, so last season was big for me and I think I’ve done enough to earn another contract. I’m looking forward to the season now.

“I’ve been at the club for 13 years, so I’ve spent more time at Crewe than not. The coaches and all the players, all the people, everything seems so good.
