Fire and rescue crew save horse from ditch
Fire and rescue crews from Leek and Sandyford were called to a horse trapped in a ditch in Brown edge on Stonehouse lane.
whilst a vet checked the condition of the horse fire and rescue crew assisted.
The crews used a tractor and hobble lift to free the trapped animal.
In less than an hour and a half the horse was freed and left in the care of a vet.
a spokesperson for Staffordshire Fire and rescue said
“We were called at 4.40pm (Tuesday 9 March) to Lower Stonehouse Farm on Stonehouse Lane, #BrownEdge, in the Staffordshire Moorlands, to reports of a horse being trapped in a ditch.
Crews from Sandyford and Leek attended and assisted a vet who was checking the animal’s condition. The decision was made with them to use a tractor and a hobble lift to extricate the horse.
The horse was safely out of the ditch by 6pm where it was checked over by the vet in attendance.”
