Gladman Developments teams up with mental health charity Visyon to support Cheshire's children

Land Promoter, Gladman has teamed up with Cheshire children’s mental health charity Visyon to support young people in Congleton and across the county. Gladman, who are based in Congleton, but have achieved planning permission for housing and commercial schemes across the UK, have chosen Visyon as their charity of the year for 2021/22 as they believe that investing in the mental health of young people is crucial for building successful communities. Visyon supports children and young people aged 5-25 and their families, through 1-1 counselling, mentoring, family support and also provides training for schools. Since the start of 2021, the number of young people coming to the charity for help has almost doubled. Gladman have already held an office sweepstake for the Euros Football tournament and are planning a variety of activities throughout the year to raise as much as possible for the charity. Victoria Hesson, Managing Director of Gladman shared her thoughts: “Now more than ever, mental health is of significant importance as we all recover from the devastating impacts that the Covid-19 pandemic has had on everyone across the world. Supporting a local charity is also important to us and when a number of our employees drew our attention towards the great work that Visyon does to support children within the local community with mental health issues, we knew they were the perfect charity for us to support for the next 12 months.” Kerry Spink, Engagement Manager for Visyon said: “The Covid pandemic has had a huge impact on children’s mental health, and we’ve seen many more young people with complex mental health issues coming to us for help over the past few months. We’re enormously grateful to Gladman for selecting Visyon as their Charity of the Year and know that with their support, we will be able to help hundreds more local children and their families over the next 12 months”
