INTERESTED IN SOCIAL ENTERPRISE?

Support Staffordshire is hosting an event for anyone interested in establishing a social enterprise to benefit the community in the Staffordshire Moorlands. The event will take place at The Kingsley Holt Centre on Tuesday, June 4th 6.00pm – 8.30pm.
The evening event is part of the social economy development project in the Staffordshire Moorlands, funded by the Staffordshire Moorlands District Council and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
Attendees will be able to learn about the challenges and rewards of setting up and running a community-owned business. The team at the Kingsley Holt Centre will share their experiences in saving a former Methodist chapel for community use, discussing what went well, the mistakes they made, and how they established a Community Benefit Society with a successful share offer. The Plunkett Foundation, a leading advice charity, will also be present to explain the support they offer, and Support Staffordshire will provide information on its range of services, including sourcing grants, bid writing, and all aspects of business planning for start-ups and established organisations.
As Jill Norman from Support Staffordshire said, "There's nothing like listening to someone who has set up a social enterprise to find out what is really involved. This is a great chance to ask questions, test out your ideas on others and find out where to go to get help and advice."
If you are unable to attend the event but are interested and would like to pursue your ideas for a social enterprise in the Staffordshire Moorlands, please reach out to Sarah Roberts, Support Staffordshire’s Social Economy Development Officer.
