Josh Brehaut takes over as Leek Town FC first team manager

Leek Town Fc has announced the new management team for Leek Town in the next chapter of its continued development.

Previous manager Neil Baker called time on his role as First Team Manager at the Club on Monday evening following the defeat to local rivals Kidsgrove Athletic.

Josh Brehaut will move into the role of First Team Manager, previously being Joint Assistant Manager and Peter Ward will remain as Assistant Manager. Steve Pardoe and Dom Kurasik will also remain in their respective roles.

The Board met several times this week to discuss the vacancy and options available to the Club, and agreed a period of stability was needed following Neils departure and the turnover of players in the summer.

Josh Brehaut, is a highly regarded coach who currently works in the Academy set up at Port Vale, previous to that he was at Stoke City. He was also Assistant Manager at Kidsgrove Athletic with Ryan Austin in 2018 when they reached the Fourth Qualifying Round of the FA Cup.

On his appointment he commented “I am incredibly grateful to the Board of Directors for entrusting me with this role. I am excited to get started as we continue to support this huge football club in achieving its ambitions. We have build a fantastic squad which we believe can achieve great things."

Chairman Jon Eeles commented “Anyone following Neil has huge shoes to fill, but we felt it was important for continuity at this time and we feel we have an excellent combination in Josh & Peter. We have met them several times this week and have been impressed with their professionalism, enthusiasm and pragmatism with regard to the opportunity at the Club and the task in hand, both know the existing group of players really well and indeed Peter and Steve were heavily involved in the recruitment of the new players over the summer. I would urge everyone who has the Clubs best interests at heart to get behind them and support them in the forthcoming games & the rest of the season."

The changes will be implemented immediately and the announcement has been made after the players met with management before training
