Halloween is fast approaching and this week’s Reason to Visit the Moorlands is the fantastic Alton Towers Resort and the incredibly popular Scarefest.
Scarefest is taking place every day right up to 31st October and is such an exciting event for the whole family.
This year Alton Towers Resort is featuring the UK’s first terrifying escape maze with YouTube star, Daz Games aka Daz Black. The brand-new attraction is the first of its kind, where players will be given a wristband and released into the attraction to compete to find two unique symbols and exit within seven minutes, however they will not be alone. Daz Games: PANIC will put players through an intense series of tests to challenge the mind and body, as they race against the clock to find the symbols and escape, before being trapped in the game forever.
In addition to the terrifying new escape maze, there are two other new creepy attractions. Burial Grounds - a free-flowing outdoor scare zone which isaccessible and free for all guests to experience and, updated for 2023, - Altonville Mine Tours – Tiny’s Revenge, where there are rumours that the old Altonville Mines are alive with activity once again.
There are so many other exciting attractions during Scarefest. Visit the Trick OTreat Town where the townsfolk’s favourite pastime is trick-or-treating for visitors. Guests are given a tote bag upon entering the indoor attraction and start by taking a walk down Spooky Avenue before moving onto houses where they can knock on doors to collect sweet treats and other spooky surprises.
