Karen welcomes continuation of SEND overnight residential accommodation

Moorlands MP, Karen Bradley has welcomed the news that Staffordshire County Council has approved the continuation of overnight residential support for children with SEND.

Following the recommendation before Christmas to continue this support, Karen is delighted to hear today’s news. The contract which was due to end in the summer of 2024 has today been extended until July 2026.

Overnight residential accommodation is provided at special schools Cicely Haughton in Wetley Rocks and Horton Lodge in Rudyard and Karen has seen for herself just how important this service is for many children.

Karen commented,

“I am absolutely delighted to hear today’s news. I know from staff, children and parents at these schools just how vital this residential support is to them.”
