LEEK CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH ON FRIDAY the 18th November 2022

Our roving reporters were at the above event last night. Luckily the weather had cleared up for the evenings entertainment. The Christmas lights were on to welcome you from 5pm. Live music was on at Sparrow Park starting with Noman’s Land followed by Jo Sarini and the D.A.B band. Which the large crowd thoroughly enjoyed watching. Followed by a brilliant laser show to watch. Later in the evening The Billerettes performed which was also throughly enjoyed by the crowd. Stalls of various kinds were in the Market Place selling local goods besides community stalls for Breast Cancer Now, Alzheimer’s Society, and the Moorlands District Scout Groups and of course Santa was present besides part of the Collins Fair. The indoor market was also open with more local businesses for people to look around. John Collins fair rides were also based on High Street, and Market Street West. Getliffes Yard was lit up where further local businesses were beside the Leek Rotary Club Tree of Light. Santas Grotto was also very busy in the Smithfield Centre.
