Leek Town FC to undertake charity walk in honour of James Lockett
Updated: May 28, 2023
Those who follow Leek Town FC social media channels or who are connected to the Club will know that they lost Club official and dear friend James Lockett in November 2020.
Jim was a much loved individual in the local community and was driving force within the Club with reference to fund raising and promoting the Club through social media, he very much enjoyed attending games and socialising with the players too. Indeed his activities were not restricted to Leek Town and he raised many thousands of pounds for charities in the Staffordshire Moorlands area.
The restrictions around the COVID pandemic and lockdown have severely impacted all activities in normal day to day life and at the Club, thankfully these have now started to ease and they are in position to make firm plans going forward.
In memory of Jim the First Team players will be walking from the home of Stoke City FC to the home of Leek Town FC, Harrison Park.
The Club have set up a Just Giving page for this, any funds raised will go to a charity or good cause chosen by Jim's family.

Tim Grice said "Jim loved his football and his two favourite Clubs were Stoke City & Leek Town. The team wanted to do something in his memory and raise some funds too, he would have loved this idea. We all miss him very much."
"Initially we set a target of £500 but we have now reached £740 and hope to stretch to a bigger target of £1000 before the walk which is the last weekend in May."
The Club intends to honour and remember Jim in a more traditional way when the season starts again in August 2021, further details will be released in due course”
