LOCAL CRICKET ROUND-UP

In the North Staffs and South Cheshire Cricket League on Saturday Leycett beat Blyth by 6 wickets, at Caverswall Burslem got the better of the home side and won by 5 wickets. J.G Meakin took victory over Newcastle and Hartshill by 87 runs while Knpersley who were hosting Ahcombe Park suffered defeat as Ashcombe took the honours by 44 runs.Sandbach got the better of Whitmore by 2 wickets while Wood Lne lost out at home to Norton in Hales by 127 runs.

The results over the weekend leave J.G. Meakin at the top of the Premier Division table followed by Burslem in second place.

In the Cheshire County Cricket League in the Premier Division Nantwich lost at home to Brooklands and in Division 1 Macclesfield beat Ludlow by 26 runs and bottom of the table Congleton managed a draw against Urmsdon.
