Macclesfield park benefits from major improvements
Cheshire East Council has recently completed improvements to one of its popular open spaces in Macclesfield.
The works on Rotherhead Drive included having a redesigned play area, a new pathway to the surrounding estate, seating and signage and a new hedging boundary which was provided to allow both privacy to residents and to improve the aesthetics of the space.
Initial works took place in the early part of the year and the final touches have recently been applied. The works were completed using developer funding, which was secured for this project as a condition of a nearby development.
Councillor Mick Warren, chair of Cheshire East Council’s environment and communities committee said: “I am delighted to see the significant improvements that have been made to this area and I hope that the residents who live nearby are able to get plenty of benefits from it.
“We are aiming to deliver more public open spaces improvements in the new year across the borough, as we recognise the importance of such facilities for local communities.”
