Man arrested following fire at derelict building


A man has been arrested following a fire in an outbuilding of a derelict property in Stoke-on-Trent.

We went to Bryan Street, Hanley, just before 5.30am this morning (Tuesday 2 April) and found a building well-alight.

The fire was extinguished by Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service and fire investigators deemed the fire to be caused deliberately.

No one was injured.

A 32-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion on arson and remains in custody.

Enquiries are ongoing.
