Mountain rescue, air ambulance and WMAS called to Thors cave

Mountain rescue volunteers were called out to Thor’s cave yesterday

The team were called out just after 1:30pm yesterday (Monday) to assist West Midlands ambulance service with an injured walker.

A 40-year-old lady had been to visit Thor's Cave with her husband and son. Whilst descending the path from the cave she slipped and heard a cracking noise from her left ankle. She was treated on scene by Midlands Air Ambulance Charity critical care team and West Midlands Ambulance Service. She was transported back down the main track by the team using our Mountain Rescue stretcher, and taken by land to the Royal Derby Hospital for further treatment.
