New Gymnastics Centre to open in Stoke-on-Trent

A brand-new Gymnastics Centre is set to open its doors in January.

The new, modern facility will be based at Dimensions Leisure Centre in Burslem and will officially open on Saturday, January 6, 2024.

The centre will have a competition sized sprung floor with a range of international standard equipment as well as equipment for beginners.

Classes will run for children aged 3 to 15, as well as a regular class for adults. There will also be an invitational development pathway for children to progress advanced skills and lead to competitions.

Council leader Jane Ashworth said: “I am incredibly excited to see the Gymnastics Centre open in the new year, we have big plans for this facility. As part of our new approach we will be undertaking a brand-new development programme which we hope will continue to enhance the growth and quality of gymnastics in the city.

“With the centre opening in January, signing up your kids for gymnastics classes would be the perfect Christmas present. We have over 100 spaces and our friendly team are available to answer any questions you may have about the classes.”

As part of the celebrations the centre will be holding an open day for families to have a look around and find out how to sign up on Saturday, January 6, 2024.

This comes as The City of Stoke Gymnastics Centre on Newcastle Street in Burslem will shut on Monday, December, 4, 2023. Some of equipment from this centre will then be moved to Dimensions Leisure Centre and works will prepare for the new opening.

To enquire about classes at the new centre call 01782 236210 or emailgymnastics@stoke.gov.uk.

Regular updates as well as a Christmas competition will be shared on The City of Stoke Gymnastics Facebook page: www.facebook.com/cityofstokegymnasticscentre
