New look market hall for Leek

In an interview on our "community Matters show" this morning, Councillor Sybil Ralphs MBE, Leader of Staffordshire Moorlands District Council, confirmed that Leek Market will get a make over and new stalls installed.

Cllr Ralphs expressed her excitement in creating a welcoming space and atmosphere and one that will attract more tourists to Leek and the surrounding area. Cllr Ralphs said that she would like to see another market day in Leek and will pursue this further.

In addition to the market hall improvements, Cllr Ralphs looks forward to the extension of the Churnet Valley railway and looks forward to the day when you can get a train from Leek into Stoke.
