NEWCASTLE TOWN LOSE OUT TO PORT VALE
NEWCASTLE Town suffered a 3-1 defeat in their first pre-season friendly of the season losing to EFL side and local rivals Port Vale at the Red Industries Stadium on Friday night.
The Valiants took the lead in the sixth minute with a goal from Lorent Tojal, Town equalised though on thirty-eight minutes after a save from the Vale keeper Ben Amos went to Nathan Barry who rolled the ball into the back of the net.
In the seventy-sixth minute, Vale regained the lead when Ethan Chislett raced onto his excellent first touch before slotting past the onrushing Newcastle keeper.
They extended their lead two minutes later on seventy-eight minutes as Trialist crossed the ball, Newcastle keeper Joe Slinn saved well but the rebound fell to Ethan Chislett who headed into the back of the net.
