Officers secure closure order against property

A closure order has been granted for an address in Newcastle-under-Lyme following multiple reports of anti-social behaviour (ASB).

On 6 February, we secured a three-month closure at an address on Willowcroft Way, Harriseahead, as a result of evidence submitted by the local policing team.

This positive action is in response to persistent reports from local residents of drug use and anti-social behaviour linked to the property. The order will be in place until 6 May and prohibits any person from entering the premises other than the legal tenants, emergency service workers and professionals.Inspector James Howard, of the Newcastle local policing team, said: “Over the last few months there has been a large number of reports of drug use and ASB at the address and this has had a detrimental impact on the lives of those living in the area.“We will use our powers, including those under ASB legislation, to deal with this kind of behaviour.“We have worked with partners in attempts to reduce the anti-social behaviour before seeking a closure order. We will continue to carry out enforcement in the area and work alongside the local authority to tackle the issues that matter most to local communities.”

If you have been affected by anti-social behaviour in your area, contact Staffordshire Police through our Live Chat on our website, or call 101.To report anonymously, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or call 999 in an emergency.
