Planning committee date set for McDonalds planning application

A planning application for a McDonalds restaurant and drive through in Leek has had a date set for a planning committee meeting.

The plans for the restaurant on the Churnet works site are to house a McDonalds restaurant, drive through, play frame and car park will go to a planning committee at Staffordshire Moorlands district council on March 9th 2023 according the councils website.

Leek town council have said that they do not object to the plans in response to consultation but do not have any say on wether the plans are approved or not

Leek town council said

“: Leek Town Council resolved after considerable scrutiny of the Planning application and public comments to have ¿No objection¿ to the McDonalds development. There was a suggestion that the European colour branding for McDonalds in more subdued green tones would be preferable for signage if this was an option.”
