Police appeal for information after Macclesfield auction house burgled

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and CCTV footage following a high value auction house burglary in Macclesfield.

In the early morning of Tuesday 16 November 2021, three people wearing balaclavas entered the Adam Partridge Auction House on Withyfold Drive, Macclesfield.

The suspects stole more than 400 pieces of jewellery including gold coins, rings, necklaces, watches and a vast amount of other jewellery related items, valued in the hundreds of thousands.

No arrests have been made at this stage. Enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Constable Tom Towe, of Macclesfield CID, said:

“I am asking for anybody with information about the those responsible or the whereabouts of the jewellery to contact the police.

“Unfortunately, we don’t have any photographs of the stolen items, but I would also ask local jewellers and pawnshop owners to look out for items matching the above descriptions.

“We have carried out a number of enquiries and we are now asking for the public's help.

“We are asking for anyone who may have seen the incident, or anyone who has information, to contact Cheshire Police.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting incident IML-1133492 or report it via the Cheshire Police website.
