Police Dog Tiger tracks down man following collision

A man has been arrested following a collision after he was tracked down by PD Tiger in Stoke-on-Trent.

At 4.35pm yesterday afternoon (23 April), we got a call saying there had been a collision on Duke Street in Fenton.

It involved a red Peugeot 207, a black VW Transporter van, a white Vauxhall Corsa and a Peugeot RCZ. The driver of the Peugeot 207 ran off after it happened.

Thankfully, no-one else involved was seriously injured.

A nearby police dog handler and PD Tiger started work to track down the driver in the area. He was found in the undergrowth of the A50 and attempted to get rid of his clothing along the way.

We also found out the Peugeot 207 was on cloned plates.

A 21-year-old man, from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking, vehicle theft, failing to stop after a road accident, driving without a license and driving without insurance.

He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

Anyone who has any CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage of the cars leading up to the collision or any information that can help us are urged to get in touch.
