Reduce food waste and save money

Staffordshire Moorlands Council are advising residents how we can all do more to reduce the amount of food waste we create.

You may think that it’s just one plate of leftovers, or a handful of fruit which is going off – but it all adds up.

Reducing food waste can not only save you money but it helps you do your bit to save the planet.

Over 7.1 million tonnes of food and drink is wasted in the UK each year! We can all do more to reduce the amount of food waste we create.

If you have food scraps or leftovers which can’t be reused, then put them in your brown bin so they can be recycled.
