Royal Stoke Porter dies from Covid at hospital where he worked




A Royal Stoke university hospital Porter has sadly died at the hospital after contracting covid-19.

John Jackson,known as Adam died at the hospital where he worked on February 7th.


A statement released by UHNM said

“It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of John Jackson, a porter at University Hospital of North Midlands, from Covid-19.”


Tracy Bullock, Chief Executive at UHNM said: “John, known as Adam to his friends and family, will be sadly missed by all his colleagues at UHNM.”


Adam, 52, of Trent Vale, was employed by Sodexo and had worked in theatres at Royal Stoke University Hospital. He died at Royal Stoke on 7 February 2021.


Louise Durose, Logistics and Waste Manager at Sodexo, said: “Adam was a gentle natured man who took great pride in making people’s most difficult times a little bit easier. He was a popular and well respected member of our team and known throughout the hospital as a caring and compassionate porter. He will be missed by all and leaves a huge gap in the Sodexo portering family.”


Adam leaves a sister Louise Grice, of Clayton. She said: “Adam was a loving and kind brother and a true gentleman with a passion for heavy metal music and vintage films.”
