Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care System (ICS) has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award.

The ICS has been shortlisted for the ‘Governance Project of the Year’ at the Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland (CGIUKI) Awards 2023, which recognises and celebrates excellence in governance and annual reporting.

The ICS submitted their multi-agency risk management Collaborative and Board Assurance Framework (BAF) for consideration. This innovative work successfully combined risk management processes from across eight system partners and led to the development of the system BAF.

As a result, consistent and robust risk management practices have been established within the ICS which help provide system-wide assurances and a new standard for partnership working.

The work has also proved critical in the management of ambulance handovers last winter, with ICS partners having a greater role in the assessment of risks and their mitigations through an integrated approach to risk management.

Tracey Shewan, Director of Governance at Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent ICB, said: “We are thrilled to be nominated for an award which recognises the very best in Governance across the UK & Ireland. This project has been seen as a model for further multi-agency collaboration in the ICS, and we are delighted to see everyone’s hard work recognised”.

Winners will be announced at the InterContinental on Park Lane on Monday 20 November. For more information, please visit CGIUKI Awards 2023.
