Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Patients Can Now Access Their Care Records Online
More patients in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent can now access their medical records online than almost anywhere else in the country.
Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent now lead the country in online patient record access, with over 97 per cent of practices offering this service, surpassing the national 90 per cent target. This allows patients to efficiently access their complete medical records from home, giving them control over their healthcare whilst saving time and money. This new system change also helps GPs to be more efficient with their care for other patients by reducing waiting times.
Dr Paddy Hannigan, Clinical Director for Primary Care in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board comments: “We are extremely pleased 97 per cent of Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent General Practices have signed up to and are now offering patients online access to their medical records. We hope to hit 100 per cent soon.”
“Patients will now be able to access all parts of their future medical records, including documents and free text following a consultation so they can check the advice they have been given in-surgery. This can support patient health and well-being and provide positive health outcomes for patients. We would like to ensure everyone that it is completely safe and complies with the Data Protection Act meaning your details are safe and secure.”
“The ICB would like to thank their practices for their hard work in achieving this level of uptake and in ensuring their patients have access to their full future medical record.”
Local medical committees and digital teams have worked together to make sure this new system benefits patients by putting them first and making engaging with their health easier, setting a great example for the rest of the country.
