Staffordshire based charity invites people to learn more about local community groups.
The annual Staffordshire Moorlands VCSE (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise) Marketplace Forum, hosted by Support Staffordshire, is opening to the public for the first time.
Taking place at the Salvation Army Hall on Salisbury Street in Leek (ST13 5EE) from 4.00pm to 6.00pm on Tuesday 20th June 2023, the Forum will see a wide range of groups showcasing their work giving people an opportunity to meet their representatives and learn more about what they do.
“Our members support a huge range of local needs”says organizer Celia Muir “from Mental Health support groups to local community radio, the forum is a great opportunity for Moorlands people to understand where the charity sector fits in to everyday life and also to get involved if they want to.”
As part of the event there will be a chance to meet Support Staffordshire’s new Volunteering for All Officer, Verity Hilton, to discover more and sign up for volunteer positions.
“Volunteers are the lifeblood of every community, and many people are still unsure about where to go to findvolunteer opportunities” says Muir. “We can help people find local volunteering roles that suit them.”
Members of the public are invited to go along any time from 4.00pm on the day.
