Staffordshire Wildlife Trust invites donations of unwanted Items to charity shops

As 2024 gets underway, Staffordshire Wildlife Trust is calling on the residents of Staffordshire to donate quality unwanted items to its charity shops.

The Trust has three charity shops that play a vital role in supporting the organisation's conservation efforts across the region.

By donating new or gently used items such as clothing, furniture, books, and household goods, individuals can directly contribute to the Trust's mission. They will also be reducing their environmental footprint by diverting items from landfill and starting 2024 in an eco-friendly way.

"Perhaps you received a gift that you know you’ll never use? Or maybe you’ve had a good clear out during the Christmas break? Either way please think of us and donate your unwanted reusable items at our shops, or drop them off at our reception at The Wolseley Centre near Rugeley.

“Every item donated to our charity shops makes a meaningful impact on our conservation and habitat restoration work here in Staffordshire," said Carol Gamble, Head of Commercial. "By choosing to donate your unwanted items, not only will you be helping local wildlife, you will also be contributing to a more sustainable future for the environment."

Donations can be made at any of Staffordshire Wildlife Trust's charity shops located in Codsall, Penkridge and Leek. For each shop’s opening hours please visit www.staffs-wildlife.org.uk/explore/our-charity-shops

Carol adds: “If you’re a tax payer, why not also sign a Gift Aid Declaration? These can be completed on your first donation at any of our charity shops or The Wolseley Centre. Gift Aid is a government scheme that allows us to reclaim the basic rate tax you pay as a UK taxpayer. It means we can claim 25p of tax for every £1 you donate (in cash or items) at no extra cost to you, so your donations can go even further for nature.”
