Supporter issued with five-year football banning order

A man has been banned from attending all regulated football matches for the next five yearafter going onto the pitch at a Port Vale Football Club home fixture.

Ted Piolunowicz, 63, from Stoke-on-Trent, ran onto the pitch during the team’s clash with Portsmouth on 27 January this year.

He is now banned from attending Port Vale and international fixtures for the next five years after pleading guilty to going onto the playing area at a football match at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on Thursday (9 May).

As part of his sentencing, he has also been ordered to pay a fine of £253.

PC Tim Moss, our dedicated football officer for Port Vale Football Club, said:  “This outcome is the result of positive work being done by Port Vale Football Club, Staffordshire Police and the courts to combat unacceptable behaviour.

“We will continue to take positive action and work alongside football clubs in Staffordshire to proactively police football matches in the area.”
