Sybil Ralphs removed as District council leader

At a Staffordshire Moorlands district council meeting this evening (May 4th) a new leader of the council was elected.


Councillor Sybil Ralphs MBE, who held the position since 2007, was removed as leader.


This follows the removal of her as leader of the local conservative group at their AGM in April.



Councillor Paul Roberts, councillor for Caverswall, was elected as the new leader of the council with challenge after Councillor Ralphs was nominated for the position she vacated.


Councillor Paul Roberts was elected Chairman of the District Council on 28 April for 2021/22.

Councillor Tony Holmes, councillor for Forsbrook was elected as chairman of the council for 2022/23.
