The People Hub and Stoke-on-Trent City Council Partners Collaborate to Create Award-Winning Homecare
Worker Programe
The People Hub team, in close collaboration with Stoke-on-Trent City Council partners, is thrilled to share the successful implementation of their award-winning homecare worker programme. This groundbreaking initiative which achieved the HPMA Capsticks Excellence in People Award for Innovation 2022 has garnered recognition for its exceptional contributions to the community and its commitment to providing high-quality care for vulnerable adults in the region.
The homecare worker programme, now in its fourth intake, has achieved remarkable results since its launch on 1 March 2022, through to 28 February 2023. Over this period, a total of 17 dedicated individuals were recruited, with 11 currently employed and a retention rate of 64%, highlighting the program's ability to attract and retain top talent.
One of the standout achievements of the initiative is the creation of a career progression pathway, which has seen three individuals advance to Band 3 Senior Homecare workers. This demonstrates the program's commitment to fostering professional growth and providing opportunities for personal development.
In total, the People Hub team has provided essential support to 208 vulnerable adults living in their own homes across Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire during this period. With 6,065 visits made, the dedicated team of homecare workers has demonstrated their dedication to ensuring the well-being and independence of those in need.
To ensure the highest level of care, the People Hub team provides comprehensive training to all individuals participating in the homecare worker program. This includes the successful completion of the Care Certificate, ensuring staff are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional care.
Ruth Beard, People Hub Recruitment and Deployment Manager, said: "We are incredibly proud of the achievements of the homecare worker program and the outstanding impact it has made on the lives of vulnerable adults in our community. The collaboration with Stoke-on-Trent City Council partners has been instrumental in its success, and we are grateful for their ongoing support.
“We remain dedicated to continuously improving our services and supporting our staff, ensuring that every individual we serve receives the highest standard of care."
The People Hub team and Stoke-on-Trent City Council partners are committed to building on the success of the homecare worker programme, working to provide exceptional care services and support to vulnerable adults in the region.
