Three arrests after stolen vehicles uncovered
Three people have been arrested after we found stolen vehicles in Essington.
At about 8pm on Friday (10 May), we received a report that a Vauxhall had been stolen from an address near Newchapel Road in Kidsgrove.
Then, on Sunday (12 May), we got a separate report at about 9pm when a group of men forced entry into a warehouse in Stone and stole large quantities of designer perfume.
Since then, we’ve been working hard to carry out enquiries and track down the stolen goods.
We were able to track the stolen Vauxhall to an address on Hilton Park, Essington, where we found a further three stolen vehicles and the stolen perfume.
A 35-year old man, from Cannock, and two 23-year-old men, from Wolverhampton, were arrested on suspicion of burglary.
They have since been released on conditional police bail while enquiries continue.
We’re working hard to make Staffordshire an increasingly difficult place for vehicle thieves to offend. Officers are tracking those responsible with ANPR technology, using covert tactics to catch criminals red handed and pursuing stolen vehicles with police helicopters, drones and dogs as part of our Operation Bormus commitment.
Since it was launched, we’ve arrested more than 120 suspected vehicle thieves and charged more than 50 with offences.
