TUESDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL ROUND-UP

PORT Vale are through to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup after a 2-1 win over Sutton United.


Thomas opened the scoring for the Valiants on 49 minutes, but Sutton started to push Vale back and on 70 minutes got their reward as Kasimu equalised for the viitors. The home side then struck with a superb goal from Ojo in the 83rd minute which saw Port Vale win the game and go into the draw which takes place tonight (Wednesday)


Macclesfield dropped to fifth place in the Northern Premier League Premier Division after after a draw at the New Manor Ground against Ilkeston Town.


The visitors took the lead with a goal from Drummond on 71 minutes but Ilkeston on their home turf struck back on 80 minutes with Walker netting to end with the teams sharing the spoils.


IN the Northern Premier League West Division Kidsgrove Athletic remain top of the table with a 2-1 victory over Vauxhall Motors, goals from Knapper (10) and Morley (49) secured the points for the home side while Buckley gained a consolation goal for the visitors on 71 minutes.


HANLEY Town beat Nantwich Town 1-0 the all important goal coming on 23 minutes as Jones scored from the penalty spot which sees' Hanley move to seventh in the table.
