VALIANTS MAKE FIRST SUMMER SIGNING
PORT Vale have announce the signing of Ronan Curtis has agreed a three-year deal with the Valiants from 1st July, subject to EFL and FA approval.
The 28-year-old winger becomes Darren Moore’s first signing of the summer, joining us from AFC Wimbledon upon the expiry of his contract.
A product of the Derry City Academy, Curtis made his professional debut for The Candystripes in 2015 and would go on to rack up 91 appearances in all competitions, scoring 18 goals including a UEFA Europa League debut strike against FC Midtjylland.
The Republic of Ireland international would then go on to join then League One side Portsmouth and quickly became a favourite amongst the Fratton Park faithful making 226 appearances for Pompey, scoring 57 goals and creating 42 assists across five seasons in all competitions; becoming their leading goalscorer of the 21st century and third-highest goalscorer in the club’s history.
In January of 2024, Curtis joined League Two side AFC Wimbledon on a short-term deal that would run until the end of the season and enjoyed a fruitful stay with The Wombles. The versatile winger amassed five goals and two assists in 17 games in all competitions, earning the club’s goal of the season for his match-winning strike against MK Dons in the process.
