Walk-in clinics this weekend to give whole family COVID-19 vaccinations in time for Christmas

Family members aged 12 and over can all get their COVID-19 vaccinations together at the same place and time at special walk-in clinics in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire this weekend to ensure that everyone is protected in time for Christmas. The selected vaccination clinics will be taking place this Friday (26 November), Saturday (27 November) and Sunday (28 November), offering first and second doses for people aged over 16, booster doses for people aged 40+ and a single vaccine jab for children aged 12-15.

The clinics will be taking place at the following locations and times. Friday 26th November: Codsall Satellite Clinic, Trinity Church, Histons Hill, between 2.45pm-4.15pm. Saturday 27th November: Sacred Heart Church, Silverlink Road, Tamworth, between 10.30am-2.30pm. Saturday 27th November and Sunday 28th November: Cornwells Chemist, Wardles Lane, Great Wyrley. Visit twb website for opening times. Sunday 28th November: Chase Terrace Fire Station, Rugeley Road, Burntwood, between 10.30am-2.30pm. Sunday 28th November: Pirelli Stadium, Burton Albion, Princess Way, Burton, between 9am-4.30pm (lunch break 12.30-1pm). PLEASE NOTE: 18+ only at this site.

The clinics are being held as health chiefs urge everybody who is eligible for a COVID-19 vaccine to book an appointment or visit a walk-in clinic so that they are protected against coronavirus ahead of the festive season. Dr Paddy Hannigan, Clinical Lead for the vaccination programme in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, said: "In the run-up to Christmas – and what we know will be a challenging winter – we would encourage everyone who is eligible to get their COVID-19 jab as soon as possible to protect themselves and those around them. “This is especially important as many people will be planning to meet up and mix indoors with friends and family over the festive period, which is the perfect environment for the virus to spread. "Getting your COVID-19 booster vaccine is the best way to keep yourself and your loved ones safe this winter and it will help to reduce the pressure on the NHS "Sadly, we are seeing a surge in cases in parts of Europe at the moment. The most important thing we can do to stop a similar rise in this country is to get the jab – so please get your vaccines as soon as you can so we can keep the virus at bay.” These walk-in clinics are intended for family groups only. Individuals will still be able to get their vaccine at other walk-in clinics this weekend. Up-to-date details and times for all other Staffordshire COVID-19 vaccination walk-in clinics can be found at https://www.twbstaffsandstoke.org.uk/coronavirus/how-to-get-a-vaccine-where-and-travelling Appointments for vaccines can also be booked online through the National Booking System by visiting www.nhs.uk, or by calling 119. You don’t need to be registered with a GP or have an NHS number to get your jab, but it will be quicker if you do, so take that information with you if you can. Don’t miss out. Get vaccinated and get back to doing the things you love to do.
